ree

you intruding places of hide and seek in my universe city

as they sing about delirious days and the truth

what is a chronic need to separate myself from me

like how you taught me to take the marrow out

throw the bone to then enjoy a morning nihari

and walk back from my bus stop was counting infinity

cow dung cakes lining ancient walls of a decaying fortress

serving stories of intrusive smells after partial digestion

what was left behind that is now burnt memories

captured inside gases traveling within me

beside people

we know your last meal designed like circuitous graves

all you could eat but nothing to leave behind anymore

your touch brings the wet soil a mouthful of descriptions

your words are speaking to an object mapping faith

your faith transcribed in a diary written on my lips and nose

a mother's nightmares are difficult to erase

now those weaving new geographies of appetite

ask me to eat my faith upon which luminous rice flowers

the more i eat the less i leave behind
